Prostitution Research & Education is a 10-year old nonprofit organization. We have just completed a two-year study of prostitution and trafficking in the state of Nevada.
Prostitution Research & Education's mission is to give voice to those who are among the world's most disenfranchised groups: prostituted/trafficked women and children. The project's goal is to empower this constituency by documenting their perspectives through research, public education, and arts projects. Another mission of Prostitution Research & Education is to abolish prostitution and trafficking while at the same time advocating for alternatives to prostitution—including emotional and physical healthcare for women in prostitution.
PRE develops research and educational programs to address the harm of trafficking and prostitution. We develop innovative approaches to educating the public about prostitution and trafficking—including how these institutions are related to issues of women's rights, racism, poverty and human rights. We provide expert consultation to law enforcement, attorneys, and state, national, and international policymakers.
