The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is a federal agency that was created with the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The agency is a prong of the executive committee and focuses on promoting equal employment opportunity for all by enforcing federal laws that protect the civil rights in the workplace.
The US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission exists to eradicate discrimination in the workplace through investigation, litigation, and education.
The EEOC can open a federal investigation into allegations of human trafficking and, in some cases, pursue an action in federal court to seek monetary and injunctive relief on behalf of the victims of trafficking. The EEOC also provides education and technical assistance anyone wishing to learn more about the laws we enforce.
